Trail Description Trails are shady with many water features with hills and wooden bridges. The trail wind along side a 70 acre quarry lake with white sandy beaches for swimming.

Campground St. Stephens Historical Park is a state park designated to preserve the history of the Territorial Capital of Alabama. Our park grounds include remains of the original town of St. Stephens which experienced its heyday from 1799-1829. We also have a 70 acre quarry lake and over 15 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding. Lodging options include 9 cabins, over 40 RV sites, and primitive camping sites.

(Gently sloping or level terrain; trails are groomed or wide open; shallow or no creek crossings. ) 
 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes) 
 Rigorous (Easy to More Difficult for rider but physically challenging for horse such as on a level surface through deep sand) 
 Challenging (Possible rocky, uneven surface, steep slopes, uncleared trails, faster flowing streams and other obstacles that lead to more difficult riding for rider and horse)
